*SPECIAL* SEPHORA MAKE UP REVIEW: FEAT. SEPHORA'S METAMORPHOSIS EXFOLIATING POWDER, INSTANT EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER & CONCEALER PALETTE!

Hi beauties,

I haven't spoken about Sephora branded products in my reviews, so sit tight guys because it's going to be one fun ride talking about how I felt of these products.

I can spend so much time at the Sephora store because there's so many brands to cover in such a short amount of time. Did you know Sephora have their own line tool? Well, I put that to the test to see whether they worked for me.

The products that I will be reviewing include:
  • Sephora - Metamorphosis Exfoliating powder
  • Sephora - Instant Eye Make-up Remover
  • Sephora - Concealer palette

All of the products being reviewed are Sephora branded. I believe they are good quality products and you can find all of these products mentioned stocked at your local Sephora store. Or you can check out the Sephora official website for more information: http://www.sephora.com.au/  or for international followers www.sephora.com

Keep reading to find out more on what I thought guys! x

Sephora - Concealer Palette

The concealer palette comes in four different shades for concealing. I'll start with the top left and work clockwise for the colour type with looking at the image above: 1) Nude (Light beige), 2) Leaf (Minty green), 3) Lilac (Light purple) and 4) Sandy (Medium beige)

The product comes in a circular shaped case including a concealer mini brush but I just use my regular concealer brush only because it's longer and would be more effective in smoothing the product under my dark circles. The mini concealer brush included in this palette is suitable and convenient for if you were to use this on the go.

This a four-coloured palette that can offer four different concealer colours to suit your skin shade. This idea actually allows you to correct any dullness, redness and conceal the prone spots that you wish to conceal. The palette is actually made in Canada and I love it when products are made from the U.S because the quality will be there. If you were thinking why is the shade in green-mint coloured? Well that's because it acts to counteract any redness on your skin whereas the lilac coloured shade acts to tone down any dullness. As for the other two shades - the one being a lighter coloured beige and the other being a darker beige - makes it even easier for you to mix them together to get the right shade you want to achieve. I have light-medium coloured skin tone, so this was not a problem for me to get the right shade. For anyone with a darker skin colour, this palette wouldn't be ideal, but I'm sure Sephora would have other darker shades which might also suit your skin. So be sure to browse through their selection of concealers.

So whenever I use concealer -- is pretty much when I am looking to conceal my blemishes and any redness on my skin. I have dark circles which aren't that bad looking but using this concealer, it really covered well. especially when I used the lilac and mint green shade combined because it acts to neutralize the dark circles. I'd dab my concealer brush into the mint coloured palette and worked around my redness on my skin, then followed by the lilac coloured shade. To finish off, I combine both light and medium beige toned concealers and apply it onto my blemish prone areas. My prone areas were effectively concealed and I am definitely happy about it. The spots were covered well and this is by far, one of the best concealers I've ever used. To blend in the product with all four shades, it was really easy and I experienced no issues with it.

I found the finish to be very matte looking, flawless and it was not even sticky. The concealer texture is really creamy and moisturising so this makes getting the product easier when using a concealer brush or you can just use your clean fingers to apply onto skin. The product didn't look caked on which I like about the concealer. It does not flake for me so with make-up on top, this was not of much concern.

Overall, this is a concealer which conceals my dark circles effectively so I am very satisfied with this product. I am rating this a 4.8/5 stars!

POSITIVES:
  • Comes in 4 different coloured shades.
  • The lilac and mint shade all act to neutralise the colour of dark circles, tones down redness and blemishes.
  • Made in Canada.
  • You can mix the light and medium beige shades to suit your skin-tone (Ideally for those with light-medium skin tone)
  • Comes with a cute mini concealer brush (Can use this on the go)
NEGATIVES:
  • The brush that it comes with is quite tiny, so best to use clean fingers or a concealer brush.
BEAUTY TIPS:
  • Use a concealer brush to blend in the product under dark circles to conceal.
  • You can also use clean fingers to gently blend in the concealer.

Sephora - Metamorphosis Exfoliating Powder

When I first heard of the word 'Metamorphosis' Exfoliating Powder - I was thinking to myself that's got to be one unique name to call a product!

How this exfoliating powder works is that it assists your skin to create a fresh and clear complexion. This powder 'scrub' provides a dual action exfoliation through its 'gentle chemical peel' and 'micro cellulose powder' to actually smooth and soften your skin's texture. I used this once a week by itself and I also added some to my daily cleanser. What's great about this exfoliating powder is that it's suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin types. There are no parabens present in this product which makes me more reassured that I am using a good quality product that does not harm my health at all.

After using this as an exfoliation product, I found my skin looking very smooth, radiant and healthy looking. It almost felt like baby smooth skin - and I'm always happy if my skin turns out feeling like it. It's so gentle that I do not experience any stinging or irritation from such a gentle exfoliation powder. I tend to get dry flaky skin due to the dry and cold weather conditions - so it's essential for me to exfoliate my skin at least once a week to rid of the dead skin cells. It really is effective in smoothing out my skin and I am very impressed with this because it was my first time using a powder base for an exfoliation product.

The white powder texture looks very refined and feels very silky. To use this product, all you need to do is wet your hands and then shake out a small amount onto your hands and then gently massage onto your face. It certainly foams up well when mixed with water. It feels good to do this once a week because you're actually clearing out all of the old skin cells and grime trapped underneath your skin. While you're massaging your face, you're actually buffing away the old skin cells.

After rinsing my face I felt my skin look more soft, glowing and radiant. My skin did not even feel tight or dry and so I am definitely going to seek the Sephora stores for this product once I run out of it. I also noticed that when applying on my moisturizer and makeup, it went on very well after using the exfoliating powder with my skin looking very radiant.

The product comes in a shaker style bottle with white, scent-free powder. You don't require heaps of product as a small amount goes a long way.

I am super satisfied with the metamorphosis powder and certainly giving this a full 5/5 stars!

POSITIVES:
  • Features a  'gentle chemical peel' and 'micro cellulose' in its powder.
  • Makes skin feel very smooth, radiant and glowing.
  • When exfoiliating in the long-term, you'll be able to get healthy looking skin.
  • Does not dry skin up.
  • Gets rid of dry flaky skin.
NEGATIVES:
  • Zilch.
BEAUTY TIPS:
  • Use once a week by itself or mix into daily cleanser for added benefits and glowing skin.

Sephora - Instant Eye Make-up Remover

For those wondering whether Sephora stocked Eye Make-up remover, well you're in luck guys because they have available their 'Instant Eye Make-up remover' where it has been ophthalmologically tested. It's safe for all contact wearers and those with sensitive eyes.

The make-up remover has been designed to remove traces of make-up on the skin and also strengthen lashes. In the product's formulation which includes HydroSenn+a natural ingredients where it helps to deliver long lasting hydration to your skin. This in  a way leaves your skin feeling very smooth.

From reading the contents of what's not in the product, I was relieved to know that there are no Parabens, Sulfates or Phthalates. Upon using the product, I found that it removed most of my make-up after a day's out. I wouldn't put it closely near my eyes, because the liquid felt really strong but in way, it helped to remove the rest of my other make-up (such as eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner and mascara) which is what I really wanted to achieve from using this instant eye make up remover.

Overall, I'd give this a 4/5 stars as it does the job for me.

POSITIVES:
  • Removes most traces of make-up around the eye area.

NEGATIVES:
  • Smells strong.

BEAUTY TIPS:
  • Best to use cotton-pad and soak with the eye make-up remover.
WHERE TO PURCHASE:
