When it comes to acne, it's never any easy solution. I personally suffer from breakouts from time to time. I've tried many ways of trying to rid acne prone issues..from prescriptions, topical solutions, natural solutions and many more. Although some of the solutions do work, it's never for the long run.

I realised that it comes down to your skincare routine and what particular products you're using. And should you be using the right acne skincare products on a regular basis, you will start to notice a gradual improvement to your skin - just like how I did since I've started to use the Sebamed Clear Face range as part of my skincare routine targeting acne prone skin. In addition to cleansing your face with the right acne-prone products, ensure that you drink enough water and eat a healthy diet. (After all...you are what you eat!)

What makes the Sebemed range unique is that their products are soap and alkali free with a pH of 5.5 - this is the same pH of healthy skin. By using other skincare products that contain soap and alkali, this can potentially lead to more problematic skin issues as it is too harsh for the skin. The Sebamed range is the perfect solution here as it supports and sustains the skin's natural acid mantle. The products have been developed with Dermatologists, Pharmacists and Hospitals. High quality products have actually been used to produce the Sebamed range which means that there are no cosmetic gimmicks involved.

So to give you guys a little run-down of which products I have used, check out the below:
  • 1. Sebamed Clear Face - Antibacterial Cleansing Foam (I'll start off with using a cleansing foam to combat impurities, blackheads and pimples.)
  • 2. Sebamed Clear Face - Deep Cleansing Facial Toner (After cleansing, I'll focus with a deeper cleansing product such as the Facial Toner which helps to cleanse deep into the pores and counteracts the formation of new pimples forming.)
  • 3. Sebamed Clear Face - Care Gel (And after deep cleansing the face, I'd focus on applying on a care gel that's free from oils and emulsifiers and still keeps the skin moisturised.)
  • 4. Sebamed Clear Face - Coloured Anti-pimple Cream (So in order to target each pimple, by using this antibacterial cream, it helps to clear up the pimples. It also provides a relief from pimples and blackheads).

For further information, check out the below to find out more about the Sebamed range. Did I also mention how affordable all of these products are? They're definitely within budgets and for the quality of the product, I am so impressed with them. Find out why...

Sebamed Liquid Face & Body Wash AND Body Lotion

I tried out a sample of the Liquid Face and Body wash and was impressed at the multi-uses that it had. It's made 100% soap and alkali free which means that it's so gentle on all skin types. It's also paraben free so there are no nasties present. This face and body wash looks to effectively gently cleanse deep into the pores and doesn't even dry out the skin. It's definitely ideal for those with acne-prone skin as it doesn't irritate the pimples. How the face and body wash works is that it has a moisturising complex that contains essential skin related amino acids, vitamins and lecithin which helps to retain moisture for the skin. So if you have sensitive skin, this wash is so ideal for you as well. This liquid face and body wash is ultra mild and therefore provides the most gentle feeling for all skin types.

I also tested out the Body Lotion that does not contain any soap or alkali. By using this body lotion, it helps to preserve the natural moisture content of your skin. There's a camomile extract and allantoin which soothes the skin by making it feel softer and more supple. I found that when I used the body lotion on my skin, it didn't feel greasy or oily at all. In fact, it absorbed easily and left my skin feeling so hydrated. It's so ideal for winter as it helps to keep your skin nourished and moisturised.

  • RRP $14.95 for 300ml or $25.50 for 1000ml - for the Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash.
  • RRP $12.50 for the Sebamed Moisturising Body Lotion
  • Can be purchased online via their official website at http://www.sebamed.com.au/

Sebamed Clear Face, Antibacterial Cleansing Foam (150ml)

This cleansing foam is made for those with acne prone skin. It looks to combat pimples, blackheads and skin impurities. This cleansing foam gently cleanses right into the pores, leaving your skin feeling clean and fresh. There are no parabens or aluminium present in the cleanser making it a safe product to use in the long term. There's a new antibacterial active ingredient called Montaline C40 which effectively penetrates the pores for a mild pore-deep cleansing and antibacterial effect. It also helps to protect your skin against lipid erosion during cleansing by providing a hydrating and smoothing effect to your skin. As there is Panthenol present in the cleansing foam, this actually helps to support the regeneration of any inflamed skin.

The cleansing foam also claims to kill bacteria within 5 minutes...I actually tried putting this to the test to see whether it would make a difference and I could actually feel my face feeling cleaner and softer. After using the foaming cleanser for a few days, I can visible see my skin looking brighter. After about a week, most of the acne on my face turned dry (which tells you that it's actually working) and I could not see new pimples forming. I simply love how the cleansing foam works to dry out my pimples which is a sign that the product is working for me.

Sebamed Clear Face, Deep Cleansing Facial Toner (150ml)

So after cleansing the skin I would follow that by using a deep cleansing Facial Toner. How this works is that it removes any excess oil, sebum and dirt particles you may have on the skin and it looks to disinfect it with alcohol. There is also witch hazel present in the facial toner which means that it soothes any irritated skin and redness. Then we have cucumber extract and hydrolzyed silk which all provide a moisture barrier that protects your skin from dehydration. Overall, I felt that this facial toner really provided a refreshing feeling to my skin. It helps to tighten my pores without that uncomfortable feeling which is amazing. I could definitely not see anymore new pimples forming which already tells me that my acne routine is helping. Most importantly, the skincare is so affordable!

Sebamed Clear Face, Care Gel (50ml)

Just like a facial acne gel, this product is free from nasties (i.e. Paraben, fragrances or aluminium). This care gel contains hyaluronic acids that increases the moisturising binding capacity of the skin, along with Allantoin that helps to smooth out any scaly skin. The care gel is similar to a moisturiser, hence it actually helps to keep the skin hydrated without causing more breakouts to the skin. It's not oily which is good and I would use the care gel under a serum (such as a jojoba or rosehip oil) as it will actually go well together. Overall, after using a facial toner, I would apply the care gel over my face to ensure that my face doesn't dry out or so. It's always good to retain moisture by using a product that can help to smooth out the skin.

Sebamed, Clear Face, Coloured Anti-pimple Cream (10ml)

This is an antibacterial cream that covers and clears pimples. (Yes - coloured) It's regarded as an effective relief from pimples and blackheads because of the panthenol it contains as it assists with the healing process. The pimple cream also looks to reduce inflammation and dries out the pimples before you get to it first. Contained within its ingredients is a highly concentrated phytosteroles from rapeseed that has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to improve the tone and texture of the skin. It also has Vitamin E that helps to fight tissue damaging free radicals. This pimple cream certainly helps to clam the skin down and prevent further scarring. There is alcohol and chloroxylenol present as they inhibit any bacterial acne with addition to shea butter and jojoba oil which helps to smooth and soothe the skin.

Overall, this pimple cream works well when a pimple is fresh as it helps to speed the healing process. It's great for those who have been suffering for acne for so long and are wanting a long-term solution of achieving clearer and better looking skin.

The main ingredient is Jojoba and I look to share my thoughts on the Jojoba Company skincare (An Australian skincare range) that I have tried and tested recently.

For those who are not familiar with Jojoba, it's a golden liquid wax that is made from the Jojoba bean. It originates from Southwestern North America and is known as a great ingredient for a skin restorer. Jojoba contains Vitamins A, D and E, Omega fatty acids 6 & 9 that are all naturally present in the natural ester of the Jojoba. The Jojoba company is 100% family owned and are grown on Australian farms, hence they are all locally made.
The Jojoba Company now has a wide international presence extending to Japan, U.K, U.S.A and China.

As for where you can look to find the Jojoba skincare products, you can check it out here. They are made easily available all over Australia at various chemists, boutiques and many more.

Who here is getting the winter chills? My hand is certainly up for this one. I was impressed with trying out a few skincare products from the Jojoba Company range including their 100% Natural Jojoba Lip Balm, 100% Natural Jojoba + Rosehip oil, their Botanical Hydrating Face mask and lastly the 100% Natural Makeup Remover (that's alcohol free guys). It was my first time trying out this new brand as I was super curious to see what it could do for my skin and just how "natural" it could be. All of the products I will be mentioning make exceptionally ideal basic essentials for everyday and their product packaging it definitely appealing.

Check out my ideal skincare essentials for Winter by simply scrolling down. I hope you enjoy the read xoxo

 100% Natural Jojoba Lip Balm

This is an all 100% Natural Jojoba Lip balm that's made suitable for all skin types. So this lip balm actually comes very useful as my lips are constantly dry, flaky and in need of a good lip balm treatment. This balm looks to leave the lips feeling super smooth and soft. It's an all vegan product containing Jojoba and Kakadu plum oil which essentially nourishes the lips and creates a soothing barrier for the lips. It does a solid job in protecting chapped lips, and additionally heals any cold sores that you may have. Since the lip balm offers a benefit of Vitamin E, that means it's super rich in Coconut oil so that it helps to lock in moisture for your lips. You'll also be pleased to know that there are no nasties, chemicals, colours or preservatives.

Overall, I actually quite enjoyed using this lip balm as it's smooth and lightweight. It glides on easily onto the lips and really looks to add a bit of hydration to it. There's literally a long-lasting moisturising effect which means that your lips stay hydrated for a longer period. The lip balm has a slight coconut scent to it but it's not too overpowering.

Botanical Hydrating Face Mask (80ml)

This particular Botanical Hydrating Face mask is made suitable for all skin types out there. It acts to deeply hydrate your skin by rebalancing any dryness that you may have. I have been using this mask overnight for more of an intensive treatment and have found after 20 minutes of leaving it on and rinsing it off, my skin felt more plumped, smoother and rejuvenated. You can actually choose to leave the face mask on for longer than 20 minutes to 24 hours as it will not dry out the skin (Feels like a spa pamper experience which is also another reason as to why I use facial masks). The hydrating clay mask contains active botanical extracts, antioxidant rich gingko biloba, plumping marine collagen, vitamin B5 and organic honey to actually help to boost the natural hydrating qualities of the jojoba.

Overall, if you're in the market for a natural clay mask that can help to rejuvenate skin by making it feel and appear more hydrated, I would highly recommend for you to check out this amazing mask.

100% Natural Makeup Remover

This features a makeup remover that's 100% completely natural. It doesn't contain any harsh substances such as alcohol. The makeup remover contains a combination of fruit oils and jojona that gently dissolves any traces of make-up which is so ideal if you're ever wearing waterproof mascara. (You're going to need a gentle type of remover that won't sting or burn the eyes). From using this particular makeup remover, I felt that my skin looked and felt much clearer and softer. Contained in its ingredients includes hints of kiwifruit, passionfruit, blood orange and pink grapefruit which all makes the product smell so fresh and fruity. The makeup remover not only deep cleanses your skin but it leaves it feeling hydrated, soft and smooth.

Overall, I am really impressed with the many fruit oils being present in the natural makeup remover. It effectively removes any stubborn mascara, dirt, grime and all of your make-up in the most gentle way which essentially makes it my ideal makeup remover to reach for.

100% Natural Jojoba + Rosehip Oil

By using a Jojoba and Rosehip oil every evening, we're essentially allowing the product to deliver deeper into the layers of our skin. This is an oil that multi-tasks by delivering to the deepest areas of the skin that's mostly needed. This oil absorbs incredibly fast onto the skin and it helps to boost more hydration to the skin as it contains the much needed antioxidants and Vitamins. This product is ideal for scars, stretch marks and additionally helps to keep the skin smooth and so radiant.

The oil offers a great level of intense hydration to the skin as it is naturally rich in antioxidants, Omega fatty acids 3, 6 and 9; and contains Vitamins A, D and E. This product has a longer shelf life of 12 months, longer than rosehip oil alone.

I would essentially use this Jojoba and Rosehip oil every evening to ensure that my skin stays super hydrated, soft and as I wanted to reduce the acne scars on my face, I would apply it onto the concerning areas. It has been a few weeks now and I have noticed a slight reduction in the appearances of my acne scars for which I am overly happy about.

Have you tried out products from the Jojoba Company as yet?

What are your thoughts?

For all of the Sydneysiders, it's SUPER cold as and that's why there's no place like your warm and comfortable home right now.

I've decided to round up my fragrances and show you my top THREE for Autumn 2016.

So by wrapping up this Autumn, I have seriously been loving the My Little Chloes "Signature" scent in 20ml sized flacons as they fit perfectly into your handbag, Marc Jacobs Splash in Pear which have been highly inspired by the original Marc Jacobs Splash collection and finally a really feminine and intriguing brand called B.Balenciaga Skin which smells absolutely delightful.

As we finish off with another season, there's always an excuse to replenish or replace your usual fragrance. Step outside the box, try as many scents as you can to experience more of what is out there. You'll be surprised with the new and different types there are, it's just a matter of taking the time to go perfume shopping.

Check out my thoughts below with my Top Three Autumn favourites for 2016. I hope you enjoy the read, xoxo.

Featuring my top three favourites for Autumn 2016.

Left to Right: B.Balenciaga Skin, My Little Chloés in Signature and Marc Jacobs Pear.

My Little Chloés - Chloé Signature (20ml)

Chloé have released their little trios of Chloé Eau De Parfum packaged in 20ml pocket sized flacons and they are adorned with pretty little bows. They make exceptional gifts and also ideal luxury handbag essentials for whenever you're on the go (Simply spritz on to reveal a lovely scent). They have released three miniature limited edition fragrances which are now available at David Jones and Myer.

Being offered in their collection is the Chloé Signature Eau de Parfum, Roses de Chloé Eau de Parfum and the Chloé Signature Eau de Toilette. Essentially, as I am loyal Chloe fan, I quite enjoy all three of these scents, however the Chloé Signature Eau de Parfum definitely takes home the gold for me. There's a deep sensuality that makes the scent really fresh, smooth, comfortable and so addictive. I'd keep this in my handbag because you cannot go wrong with the powdery rose scent.

Here's the breakdown of the scent:
  • For the Top notes, we're greeted with Pink Peony, Freesia and Lychee which all add a touch of subtle freshness to it.
  • Secondly, for the Mid notes, we have Magnolia, Lily of the Valley and Rose which all combine to deliver a luscious feminine scent.
  •  And lastly for the Base notes - we have Cedarwood, Amber and Honey which all add a touch of elegance to the scent which is perfect for a base note.

  • The little trios are available individually or as a trio set that's combined in a stylish white embossed box.
  • RRP $45 each or a set of 3 for $120 (AUD) for 20ml each.
  • Available at selected Myer and David Jones.

Overall, this scent is absolutely wearable for everyday as it's not too overpowering. I love how they're now available in 20ml pint sized as you can easily fit these in your bag and you really don't need to carry a heavy bottle around anymore.

Marc Jacobs Splash in Pear - Limited Edition (100ml)

Marc Jacobs have recently launched their Splash collection in-stores which was inspired by the Original Marc Jacobs Splash Collections. They have FOUR scents available being Pear, Cucumber, Rain and Cotton. All smell crisp and so lightly fresh which is ideal for any type of occasion. I tried out their Pear scent (in Eau De Toilette) and it's packed with invigorating flavours of pear itself. It captures the sweet essence of summer and I would describe the overall scent as being fresh and ripe. The bottle is presented in a 100ml glass cube size which feels durable and solid. There's a bulky style look to it which simply reminds me of the 2000's which definitely brings back memories for me. The bottle also looks very elegant and casual, so for me it's definitely a thumbs up. Also note that the Eau De Toilette has a shelf life of about 4 months.

Here's a breakdown of the scent:
  • Pear, Bergamont, Lemon Peel, Gin Accord, Juniper, Freesia, Teakwood, Musk and Soft Amber.
  • Style: Fresh, Ripe and absolutely tempting.

Overall, the scent is fresh and clean. It's very wearable and it has been a very long time since I've seen a pear-inspired scent that has come out. (Correct me if you do know of any as I'd like to know!) Love the fruity aroma that it gives because I always appreciate a nice, feminine scent that is not too overpowering.

  • RRP $69 for 100ml
  • Available at selected Myer and David Jones from the 29th May 2016.
  • Only available for LIMITED TIME ONLY.

B.Balenciaga Paris - Skin -  Eau De Parfum - (50ml)

As you may be aware, the very first fragrance by Balenciaga (since designed Alexander Wang took over as Creative Director) was actually launched in October 2014. It was introduced as a sharp and floral type of scent with woody undertones. Now, we see B.Balenciaga Paris in Skin being already in February 2016. It is described as being one of the most delicate versions of the fragrance range and I can definitely see why.

Here's a breakdown of the scent:
  • Top Notes - Bergamot, Green tea, Soya Bean and Lily of the Valley,
  • Middle Notes - Violet leaf Absolut, Peony and Iris root
  • Base Note - Cedar, Cashmere, Vetiver and Ambrette seed.

The bottle is presented in a hexagonal, pink coloured shaped glass bottle in 35ml, 50ml or 70ml. It's elegant, attractive and very feminine looking. It was the bottle that firstly attracted me to try out the scent as it looks stunning with its architectural design along with its arch style cap which is very unique. I simply adore the bubbly and uplifting scent from the woody florals that are elegant and enveloping. It's the perfect scent for Autumn and Winter as it's uplifting with its combination of floral, woody and green elements.

  • RRP $150 for 50ml, $100 for 30ml and $180 for 75ml.
  • Available at selected Myer and David Jones and pharmacies nationally.

“I imagined B.Balenciaga as a timeless scent, layering classical elements with theunexpected.” – Alexander Wang

With less than 5 months to go until the big day, it's all about preparing my skin for it. So one important routine to implement is definitely working out a skincare routine that works for you.

I looked to try out a new brand from Taiwan which recently launched at Australian Sephora stores. From face masks to serums, there's a product for everyone's needs. For Beloved One, the brand originates from Taiwan and is renowned worldwide. They are known for their first innovation of the bio-cellulose facial mask which has been a major hit in the beauty market. Margaret Wu founded For Beloved One at the end of 2003 where she looked to address the inadequacies of the beauty products in the market. The world's first bio-cellulose facial mask was then introduced and have been so popular that I just needed to embed the face mask within my skincare routine. What also makes the brand stand out is that they have embedded ingredients that benefit the skin for the longer term. I'll explain a bit more once we get into the products.

So the products I have started to embed into my skincare routine includes of the following:
  • For Beloved One, Hyaluronic Acid, GHK-Cu Moisturising Bio-Cellulose Mask
  • For Beloved One, Rose Silk Enriched Collagen Essence
  • For Beloved One, Hyaluronic Acid, GHK-Cu Moisturising Serum
To hear more about these products and what I thought of them, check out the below.

Think of a mask that allows for an intense form of hydration, namely the Moisturising Bio-Cellulose Mask. This particular mask has actually been a popular hit within the Asian market and they have reached an impressive sales amount of 70 billion pieces every year. How the mask works is that it contains Hyaluronic Acid GHK-Cu which locks in moisture and revitalises the skin. So whether your skin is dry and lacks the moisture needed for it to look and feel healthy, this mask will certainly help to replenish the moisture back to your skin. In terms of leaving the mask on the face, I left it for a duration of 30 minutes so that the ingredients could absorb into my skin effectively.

What you will realise about the mask is that they're made from ion-inducing bio-cellulose which means that it quickly absorbs into the skin. Bio-cellulose is considered as the most delicate mask material. After leaving the mask on for a period of time, I realised that my skin felt super moisturised, soft and supple. The bio-cellulose mask actually works amazingly to lock in all of the essential moisture needed for your skin to look healthier.

By using a mask once a week, it will definitely help to rejuvenate my skin in replenishing the lost moisture and making it feel softer and supple again.

  • RRP $59 AUD
  • Exclusively sold at Sephora stores in Australia,
  • Otherwise, please check out the Sephora official website for more information here

This is a moisturising serum that you would use if you're wanting to reduce the signs of fine lines and wrinkles. What makes this moisturising serum unique is that it looks to effectively penetrate the deeper layer of the skin an extra step more as compared to other serums. As it contains hyaluronic acid, it also looks to replenish moisture back to the skin. And with winter already arriving in Australia, you really need a strong serum that can work with your skin to really look to repair, smooth and restore the glow back to it. Our skin can tend to get super dry and uncomfortable due the change in weather. By applying on every evening, it will look to reduce the signs of ageing and also boost collagen to your skin, hence improving your skin's elasticity. The serum is fragrance free, is non-greasy and actually paves way for your other skincare to absorb more easily on the skin which is a benefit.

Ideally, I would use the serum every morning and evening after using a toner. By applying it on the face, I would look to massage in the product using circular motions.
Another tip would be to drink a glass of water after applying the serum to enhance the moisturising effect.

  • RRP $113 AUD
  • Exclusively sold at Sephora stores in Australia,
  • Otherwise, please check out the Sephora official website for more information here

So this basically is a new multi-purpose essence that contains deep sea active collagen that is 'fresh' and helps to penetrate into the skin's layers with its macro and micro molecules. It's definitely classified as a highly concentrated essence which can combined with your other skincare products too. So if your other skincare products is for moisturising purposes, simply add 1-2 drops of the essence to maximise the effect and restore skin so that it looks healthy and glowing as always.

We all know that collagen decreases as we age because our skin loses its elasticity due to many factors and one of them being ageing of course. So to prevent fine lines, skin from sagging, wrinkles and many more - you're going to need a product such as the Rose Silk Enriched Collagen Essence that can help to penetrate and repair your skin. You want your skin to look smoother and feel softer right?

With the Essence, as it contains uncontaminated deep-sea marine collagen, it helps to effectively moisturise, repair and tighten your skin. (Proves to prevent wrinkles too)

There are two ways of which you can use the Essence being:
  • It can be used on its own - after your basic skincare routine, ensure to massage 1-2 drops on the face until it is fully absorbed.
  • It can be complemented with other daily skincare products - so by simply putting 1-2 drops of the collagen essence onto the other skincare product, you'll notice that it will help the product to absorb faster hence achieving an effective result.

  • RRP $65 AUD
  • Exclusively sold at Sephora stores in Australia,
  • Otherwise, please check out the Sephora official website for more information here

Now I am sure if you've step foot into the department stores such as David Jones or Myer, you would have noticed the gigantic Juicy Shaker by Lancome.

Introducing to you all, I featured Lancome's first nourishing lip cushion - their Juicy Shaker which has recently been launched all over the world, across social media and other channels too with heaps of exposure and success. The Juicy Shaker is actually inspired by the Juicy Tubes which were a huge hit back in the revolution of the 2000's. The product itself comes in a cocktail style shaker including a lip applicator which is unique and brilliant. You will also notice that the lip gloss has a bi phased formula pairing nourishing lip oils with beautiful pigments to really give your lips that natural looking and glossiness to it. It's incredibly nourishing and moisturising for the lips where it contains sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil - all of which are considered as the healthy oils for your lips.

As for the cushion lip applicator, it's super soft and it actually helps the lip gloss melt onto your lips. Similar to how a sponge would work, the applicator absorbs the lip gloss and ensures that there's just the right amount of pigments on it. The shape of the applicator is also designed so that when you do look to apply it onto your lips, it's easy to do so without any hassles. The formula is also non-sticky (so you won't have any sticky lips which is great) and is non-drying thanks to the super nourishing oils present in the lip gloss.

There are 14 shades available in the Juicy Shaker range with one limited edition shade - 400 Mint to Be. I tried out Lemon Explosion in 300 and it's a nice, pale and subtle pink/coral shade bordering on the clear colour that could be worn at any time of the day. It looks almost natural but again it keeps your lips super nourished so why not? They are super fun lip glosses to have especially on the go. Simply pop one in your handbag and shake shake away. In order to use the Juicy Shaker, it's all about shaking them right. So the more you shake, the stronger the colour gets and then you can look to apply them onto your lips. Ideally, for an extra colour burst with colour finish, you can choose to apply this onto of a lipstick.

Overall, I love the concept of having of a lip gloss in a cocktail style shaker and I can't wait to try out more colours that Lancome offers. The smell I would describe as being bubblegum and sweet which is pleasant and is not too overpowering. I would highly recommend for you all to check out their new lip gloss range. The Juicy Shaker have been described as a splash of shiny colour and an intensely soft sensation: the surprise of a biphasic formula.
