Hello everyone,

Just last week I got the opportunity to experience a lovely facial spa at spaQ in Sydney thanks to Uspa. Read more below...

Thanks to Uspa, I was able to experience a spa facial at spaQ in Sydney which is this gorgeous hotel located near Pitt Street. Uspa looked to unveil their evolved and refreshed branding as they have been in the industry for over nearly 20 years.

I discovered that Uspa is dedicated to pure, clean skincare that utilises the best of nature through science. The brand was established in 1995 in Melbourne and their aim was to create a brand that offered a holistic spa experience where you could simply feel rejuvenated and restored after using their products.

The natural blends in each product is what looks to promote health, vitality and radiance back to your skin. I noticed that among the ingredients were active botanicals and pure essential oils which is ideal for creating that beautiful aroma and experience with the products. Furthermore, the brand is also inspired by its Australian roots so Uspa have incorporated the native ingredients - Lilly Pilly, Caviar Lime and Kakadu Plum to some of their highlighted products. Apparently...these native ingredients are effective for anti-ageing so that's a plus to consider about the Uspa range.

Most importantly, the Uspa products are free from any sulphates, parabens, mineral oils, synthetic colours and fragrances. It's 100% Australian made and is cruelty free. The idea of Uspa is to encourage customers like myself to learn from the spa experience and essentially make it a ritual at home. This is perfect for winding down on a Friday night and lighting a few candles perhaps?

A little about spaQ...
Taking a look back at my experiences at spaQ, I must say that I was incredibly impressed with the Uspa products, customer service and overall experience of getting a spa facial. It's located in the heart of central CBD making it convenient for busy people on the go and in need of a pick-me-up experience. There are six treatment rooms, a men's Barbershop, a Hammam inspired steam room as well as a relaxation lounge and spa boutique.

As you can see my skin type leans more on the oily to combination side and these products as recommended are supposed to help clear and rejuvenate my skin. (As recommended by the lovely Gemma who was my Spa consultant for that time).

I've been trialling out a few of the selected products from the Uspa range to really 'make it a ritual at home' and so far I am amazed with the quality and experience I've had with them.

Check out the below to see what I've been incorporating into my daily skincare routine for the past week...

Deep Cleansing Mud Mask, Mistletoe & Fennel Extracts, RRP $50

This deep cleansing mud mask is safe to be used for once or twice a week and so this is ideal for me as I do find my skin becoming oily and shiny during the day. Having an effective and deep cleansing mask that can help to remove excess oils and impurities from my skin is something that I look to achieve within my skincare routine. The deep cleansing mask features Bentonite and Kaolin Clays which works to draw out any impurities from the pores and without that drying feeling on the skin. After using this mask, my skin felt so fresh and radiant. It helps to control any excess level of sebum on the skin and is so good for those with acne. I found that my skin complexion has cleared up immensely after using this deep cleansing mask as well as feeling softer and more supple.

Purifying Elixir with Juniper Berry, RRP $60

If you're looking to treat your skin after cleansing your face, then you're going to need an uplifting blend such as the Purifying Elixir which contains Juniper Berry, Bergamot, Lime and Peppermint essential oils. It leaves the skin feeling refreshed the next day and what's better is that the elixir easily absorbs onto the skin leaving your skin feeling so refreshed afterwards. As my skin is a mix between oily and combination, the elixir is perfect in looking to balance out the moisture in your skin as well as leaving it feeling soothed and calmed. The elixir is also high in many amazing oils being sweet almond oil, rosehip oil and carrot seed oil which all help to bring life to dull and congested looking skin. So far, I have been using this every night and I can that my skin looks much clearer and healthier looking.

Rejuvenating Micro-Exfoliant, Gotu Kola & Orange, RRP $45

If you're looking for an exfoliant that works gently on the skin and does not irritate the skin, then you need to check the Rejuvenating Micro-exfoliant out! It's incredibly lightweight and looks to restore clarity and freshness back to your skin. It's perfect for Winter coming because we're all going to experience dry, dull and flaky skin - so the micro-exfoliant is perfect in looking to rid dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling smoother, softer and luminous. It also helps to keep your pores clean from any excess dirt and oil - and even safe to be used on a daily basis.

Cocoa Seed & Coconut, Rich Body Butter, RRP $40

This rich body butter is perfect for the chilly weather and what's better is that it smells beautiful of cocoa seed and coconut. This cream is made for all skin types to use and you can really smell the hint of vanilla which helps to stimulate your senses. I seriously cannot get enough of this body butter because it's so enriching and moisturising on the skin. And the plus side is that it smells so addictive and a great de-stressing product that uplifts your mood.

Soothing Hydro-Mist, Rose & Gotu Kola, RRP $40

A facial mist is a must for stressed and tired looking skin. As I am constantly in the office and exposed to the air-conditioner or heater, my skin's hydration would instantly go haywire. I have been trying on this facial mist every hour by spritzing it onto my face and it really does feel soothing and rejuvenating. It contains rose water which helps to tone, hydrate and balance your skin, whilst the Gotu Kola looks to soothe any irritations and redness. So overall it's a very gentle rose mist for everyday. You can even look to set your make-up with this face mist as it can help our skin to feel super fresh.

All of the products as mentioned in this post by Uspa can be purchased via their official website here

As I arrived to Uspa at spaQ in Sydney, I am greeted with a selection of skincare and beauty products which is all exciting!

This is their relaxation lounge at SpaQ, it just puts you in spa mood instantly.

Appreciating the interior aesthetics of spaQ's treatment rooms which have been preserved from when it used to be a barbershop back in the days. Simply beautiful....

What are your thoughts on the Uspa range?

Have you tried any of these?

Hello beauties,

Sephora just announced ANOTHER store opening in NSW at Macarthur Square...who's excited? (Especially for those who reside in south west Sydney)

This will be the fifth Sephora store in NSW and the ninth across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland as it's set to open in June 2017. This is a wonderful expansion by Sephora and that means that the Westies don't have to venture into the city to shop for their favourite beauty products at Sephora. They now can shop at their own convenience at Macarthur Square which is the largest shopping destination in south west Sydney.

Sephora will be looking to stock their favourite brands for south west Sydney beauty lovers such as Tarte, Anastasia, Kat Vin D, Beauty Blender and even Marc Jacobs as well as some new products such as Murad and Tarte. The Macarthur Sephora store will incorporate a Benefit Brow Bar and a Sephora beauty studio which is amazing!

For more information, check out www.sephora.com.au or Instagram @sephoraaus #SephoraMacarthurSquare

Hello everyone,

If you're after voluminous, bouncy and untouchable hair, you definitely need to check out TRESemme's Beauty-full Volume haircare range.

TRESemme's latest Beauty-full Volume Reverse System is a game changer if you're looking to achieve voluminous looking hair. So the concept is that by using the pre-wash conditioner before washing your hair with the shampoo, you'll find that your hair will feel softer and silkier. We all know that by using a conditioner right after we shampoo can seriously weigh our hair down, which is why you need a reverse system type of shampoo and conditioner range such as TRESemme's Beauty-full Volume that can you help you to achieve silkier and smoother looking hair.

Check out which products you need to in order to achieve voluminous looking hair:

Step 1. Pre-Wash Conditioner by TRESemme's Expert Collection, Beauty-full Volume
(RRP $10.99).

This pre-wash conditioner contains 'Fibre Shine actives' which essentially makes your hair look more polished and shinier. The formula looks to prepare the hair for a voluminous bounce as well as leaving it feeling silky smooth. So by completely swapping my shampoo and using the conditioner first, I felt that it really made a big difference to the volume of my hair. My hair felt more manageable and very lightweight which is great if you have oily hair during the day. Combing through my hair was fairly easy and I experienced no issues with messy or knotty hair.

Step 2. Shampoo the hair with TRESemme's Shampoo by TRESemme's Expert Collection, Beauty-full Volume (RRP $10.99).

This shampoo looks to provide an incredible amount of bounce for your hair. It smells very fruity and fresh which allows for a pleasant showering experience. I felt that this shampoo cleansed my hair very well and it left it feeling so lightweight right after conditioning my hair. If you have limp, oily or fine hair - this shampoo is perfect for you!

Step 3. Use a small amount of the Hair Maximiser by TRESemmes Expert Collection, Beauty-full Volume (RRP $6.99).

So right after you finish shampooing your hair, you can now look to apply a small amount of the Hair Maximiser onto your hair from root to tip, then look to blow dry. It's a great product if you're wanting to add the little extra volume and style for your hair. You seriously don't need more than a pea-sized amount because the Hair Maximiser would give you a final bouncy and polished look that you're after. I find that with the extra blow-dry creme, it helps you to achieve the 'look-at-me' root lift that you're after.

Are you looking to achieve voluminous looking hair?

Hello everyone,

Are you looking for a solution to banish acne and achieve clearer looking skin? Simple's latest Spotless Skincare products may be the answer to all of your questions...

If you're looking to achieve a fresh and clearer skin complexion, it all comes to down to your diet and the skincare products you choose to use on a daily basis. Recently my skin has been feeling slightly much oilier and I've been observing a few acne spots developing. I looked to try out Simple's latest skincare products featuring their Spotless Skin - Triple Action Face wash (which comes with Zinc & Chamomile) and their Rapid Action, Spot Zapper (which is great for targeting acne spots on your skin).

All of the products by Simple as mentioned in this post are available at selected pharmacies, Priceline stores as well as discount department stores.

For more information regarding the Simple brand, you can check them out here

Spotless Skin, Triple Action Face Wash, RRP $9.99

The Triple Action Face wash by Simple contains Zinc and Chamomile which mean that it looks to incredibly unclog your pores giving a clearer skin complexion. It works to deep cleanse and tone your skin at the same time. This face wash definitely showed results within the first day of using it. After using this face wash, I noticed that my skin was getting less oilier than usual which is great and there were less acne spots. This facial cleanser is suitable for all skin types so that includes those with sensitive skin as well. This product has definitely left my skin complexion looking much clearer which is amazing because at the end of the day you'd want a cleanser that rid any hidden dirt on the skin's surface.

Rapid Action, Spot Zapper,
 RRP $9.99

This Spot Zapper is useful for all of the random blemishes that may pop up from your skin. It comes in the form of a roll-on which makes it easier for application and targeting certain blemish spots. Essentially, you can start to see results within four hours (which I was first sceptic about) and I have to say that this product does not look to disappoint - you actually do see the results within that timeframe. The roll-on has an oil-free formula which means that it doesn't leave your complexion looking more oilier which highly ideal if you have oily to combination skin. After applying the Spot Zapper overnight, the next morning I woke up with less spots and redness on my skin which is unbelievable. I quite enjoyed the feeling of the roller-ball form because it's soothing and feels very cooling on the skin.

Have you tried any of the latest Simple products as mentioned above?

What's your skincare routine in looking to target blemishes?

Hello everyone,

Tarte have released their Spring 2017 collection where their packaging just gets brighter and better. Who's excited to learn more about them?

The Spring 2017 collection by Tarte features the perfect products for everyday. Thanks to Tarte, I tried and tested a few selections from their new range including the Lifted Sweatproof Mascara, Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturiser,  Tarteguard Tinted Moisturiser and lastly their Blot Party On-the-go mattifiers - which is a highly rated handbag essential!

All of the Tarte products as mentioned in this most are available at Sephora stores, otherwise you can check them online at Sephora's official website here.

Check out my thoughts below on these beauties....

Tarte's Tarteguard Tinted Moisturiser in Light, 50ml

There are times when I don't feel like wearing heavy foundations and bases which is why a tinted moisturiser is perfect for those occasions. Looking at the Tarteguard by Tarte, this was my first time trying out any sort of tinted products from the range so I was excited to give this product a go. For a vegan tinted moisturiser, it had really good light coverage that made my skin look more even and toned - however if you're after a medium/full coverage then this may not be perfect for you. It's very long-lasting and would be ideal for everyday wear as it doesn't make your skin feel oily at all. I felt that it didn't clog my pores which is ideal when it comes to a light, tinted moisturiser and it feels very comfortable on the skin. I have been wearing this tinted moisturiser as an everyday wear for work as I don't require heavy coverage for my skin and it also has SPF 20 which is great.

The tinted moisturiser is ideal for all skin types including sensitive and dry. There are no harsh chemicals or ingredients contained in the tinted moisturiser which makes it worth trying out. It looks to fix uneven skin tone, dryness and even redness on the skin.

Tarte's Blot Party On-the-go Mattifiers

Major product alert? This is a must have for Spring and Summer because it's very useful in looking to curb any oily spots on the skin. The Blot Party, On-the-go mattifiers is essentially a mattifier set that looks to reduce the look of oil and shine with the natural oil-control blotting paper as well as the Amazonian Clay finishing translucent powder which formulated without any talc. The compact comes with a handy mirror which is perfect for whenever you're on the go - whether you're out at the shops or at the gym. In helping to look more flawless, this compact will do just the job for you! What draws me more into the product is the fact that it doesn't contain any nasties such as parabens, mineral oils, SLS, etc.

Upon application of the Amazonian Clay translucent powder, I felt that the micro-fine powder absorbed really well into the skin, leaving my complexion looking very mattified and my pores looking less obvious.

In the compact, there are 50 blotting sheets that's made with natural hemp and wood fibers, as well as a compact brush. If you're looking for a duo that can look to absorb any oil and shine, then you definitely need to get your hands on this beauty.

Tarte's Brighter Days, Highlighting Moisturiser, 50ml

This is an oil-free, daily highlighting moisturiser that looks to illuminate and hydrate the skin. It helps with any skin dullness, uneven texture, dryness and obvious looking pores. This highlighting moisturiser gives a natural looking glow and is great for dabbing onto the cheekbones. A note to remember is that this is not meant to be applied all over your face. It's actually better than any highlighting powders I've tried to date and what makes this lightweight facial lotion unique is that it's formulated with 70% water and light reflecting mineral pigments which allows your complexion to look more radiant and illuminated.

It also has a sweat-proof formula so it's definitely ideal for everyday wear, no matter where you are. I love the after glow that it leaves on your skin because it gives that subtle sheen to it. This product is best suited to those with combination to normal to oily type of skin and is perfect for achieving that fresh and glowing skin complexion.

Tarte's Lifted Sweatproof Mascara in Black/Brown

After trying on Tarte's Lifted Sweatproof mascara I can definitely say that it's now my go to mascara. It's a sporty and sweatproof mascara that looks to voluminize your luscious looking lashes. This mascara does just what it says - being that it looks to instantly lift your lashes making them appear more voluminous. I love a good waterproof mascara because that means you can go about doing just anything, including swimming and not worry about your mascara smudging. I found that this mascara did not flake off and the black/brown colour went really well with my naturally dark brown hair. It's definitely perfect for an all day wear!

Have you guys tried out any of Tarte's products from their latest Spring collection?

Hello beauties,

Happy Friday everyone! Have you guys tried out any products by IT Cosmetics as yet? What are your thoughts on them so far?

In this particular post, I look to focus on two skincare essentials from the IT Cosmetics range which includes their BYE BYE Under Eye, Eye Cream and BYE BYE Pores, Primer. I've tried out some beauty products by IT Cosmetics in previous years and so I was excited in looking to give their skincare range a go. For their eye cream, it's all about smoothing, brightening and de-puffing the area under the eyes, whilst the primer looks to set a lovely base for your skin in preparation for your foundation/concealers, etc.

The IT Cosmetics range are now available at your nearest Sephora or alternatively, https://www.sephora.com.au/

Check out my thoughts below to see what I thought about them.

IT Cosmetics, BYE BYE PORES Primer, RRP $62

This Oil-free Poreless Skin-Perfecting Serum Primer by IT Cosmetics works to blur the look of your pores, fine lines, uneven texture and fine lines. This primer is very hydrating and it worked very well for my skin by allowing my foundation and BB creams to go on smoother and more flawlessly. This is one of the best primers I've used to date and I love how it comes in a pump sized packaging (making it so hygienic for everyday use). It's ideal for winter because of its hydrating benefits and it goes on translucent onto the skin, making it suitable for all skin types to use. I would say the texture comes in more of a light and velvet feeling which feels incredibly soft on the skin. It's also regarded as non-clogging, oil-free and translucent.

IT Cosmetics, BYE BYE UNDER EYE, Eye cream, RRP $72

I've heard so much hype about this eye cream prior to testing it out. It's ideal for ALL skin types including those with dry to sensitive type skin. So it works as an intensive, anti-ageing eye cream which brightens up the area under your eyes, as well as reducing the appearance of your dark circles, puffiness, wrinkles and fine lines. This eye cream feels incredibly moisturising and I loved the benefits of using it on a nightly basis. It contains Vitamin C, Copper, Blue Algae and peptides which is great for anti-ageing benefits. And thanks to hyaluronic acid and cucumber, the eye cream will look to restore the suppleness and hydration back to your skin.

You can choose to use this eye cream during the day but I prefer applying on any eye creams at night. A little goes a long way when it comes to applying on the BYE BYE Eye cream as you only require less than a pea sized amount for application.

After using this eye cream for some time now, I've realised the area under my eyes has looked much brighter and there's definitely less puffiness to it. I can honestly say that this product definitely gives you instant results and with continued use, you can expect the skin under your eyes to feel firmer and appear much brighter in its appearance.

What are your thoughts on the IT Cosmetics products above?

Have you tried any of these?

Hello beauties,

Thought I'd share something really interesting that I recently discovered, featuring...NO PONG, an all natural anti odourant!

We're always relying on our regular deodorant sprays and stick-roll ons, but what if there was a more natural way of looking to rid body odours? NO PONG was founded by an Australian couple which means they have discovered a natural way that's safer to use for under the armpits. It's retailed for $5.95 and and is available in Australia where they offer a global monthly delivery 'smellscription' services to customers which is AMAZING and will keep you smelling fresh under the arms.

No Pong is Australia's favourite all natural deodorants where they're a safer way to wear deodorant on a daily basis. All you have to do is look to apply a pea sized amount of the No Pong to each armpit and away you go with the freshness! The product contains bicarbonate which looks to rid odours so effectively. This deodorant left my underarms feeling fresh for the whole day and it's free from any nasties being parabens or aluminium which is very ideal.

No Pong smells amazingly fresh of lemongrass and coconut, plus it's water resistant. This product is not just for the ladies, but men are also able to enjoy the benefits of smelling fresh with No Pong. As for the packaging, it comes in a reusable simple tin which minimises the postage cost for customers. The texture comes in a balm form making it easy to apply under the arms.

Overall, I am so glad that I stumbled across this wonderful innovative product that's super natural and doesn't contain any nasties. In the longer run, I am definitely going to rely on No Pong with keeping me fresh and odour free as it's more gentle on the skin.

No Pong is available to purchase here

What are your thoughts on No Pong?

Hello beauties,

OPI recently launched their new Fiji Collection for Spring/Summer which features an array of vibrant and summery shades that are long-lasting on the nails.
OPI's take on their Fiji collection is inspired by Fiji itself - the perfect destination to relax and rewind from all of the stress. OPI looks to capture the essence of Fiji - so that means from the land, native flora, ocean and of course the beautiful country. You will have noticed the bright pops of colour among their new range which adds a bit of personality to their shades and makes it interesting to rock on the nails.

The formula of OPI's new Fiji collection is amazing and I found no clumps whilst doing my nails. The nail polishes are very quick drying and lasts for up to about 4 days on average before you'll start to see some chipping. Make sure to seal the colour with a top coat to ensure longevity of the nail colour. As for the number of coats, I found that I only needed one base, two coats of of the nail colour and finished off with a top coat. So that's four coats in total in order to make the nail colour last for a few days.

Swatches of the OPI Fiji Collection

From left to right: Two Timing the Zones, No Tan Lines, Living on the Bula-vard, Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet, Suzi Without A Paddle, I Can Never Hut Up and Super Trop-i-cal-i-fiji-istic.

OPI Fiji Collection #1
  • Two Timing The Zones - Featuring a pretty pink shade that's so vibrant looking and gorgeous on anyone. I only required two coats to get a solid even colour.
  • No Tan Lines - You need three coats for this golden yellow tone and is so perfect for a Spring or Summer's day. This shade is slightly darker than the bottle so it's not too bright looking on the nails.
  • Living on the Bula-vard - This is gorgeous dramatic coral shade which looks stunning. Only two coats is required for this nail polish and I love the overall finish as it reminds me of a freshly made fruit juice.
  • Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet - Wow...if you're after a super bright and sunny shade, you'll be talking about this one. Its yellow and bright, period. You would need at least three coats for an even finish.
  • Suzi Without a Paddle - It's always the brighter shades that require more coats and I wonder why? This lovely light blue shade needs at least 3 coats but it's so worth it in the end. This bright blue shade really makes your nails pop!
  • I Can Never Hut Up - This is an iridescent edgy grey shade with a hint of turquoise shimmer. The shimmer is subtle but I love how simple and easy it was to apply this onto my nails, without any major messes which is amazing.
  • Super Trop-i-fiji-istic - This blue shade mimics the ocean at Fiji and the formula is really on point.

OPI Fiji Collection Trio Pack,
RRP $45.90

This is available at David Jones or Myer and retails for $45.90. In this particular trio pack, you receive a Primer Base Coat, Long-Wear lacquer in shade in Two Timing the Zones and Gloss Top coat. This pack is perfect to get your started for long-lasting nail colour as it includes both the base and top coat which is pretty good. Plus the shade in 'Two Timing the Zones' features a lovely pink colour that really makes your nails stand out from the crowd.

Nails of the day featuring OPI's Infinite Shine 2 in I Can Never Hut Up from their Fiji Collection.

This is an iridescent edgy grey shade with a hint of turquoise shimmer. The shimmer is subtle and I really love this simple shade!

Hello beauties!

Dr. Hauschka recently revamped their new new make up range which consists of natural and organic beauty products. Who's excited to learn more about these?

Dr. Hauschka offers a range of make-up that's 100% natural, NATRUE certified, cruelty free and are made with the highest quality ingredients. I looked to take a selection of their new range to the test - to see whether it worked for me. The very first thing that I noticed about their packaging is that they come in a dark violet shade which makes them look premium and luxury. These products are perfect for a natural and everyday look as they don't feel too heavy on the skin. So let's right into their new range....

Foundation 02 in Almond 30ml,
 RRP $69

This foundation is very natural looking on the skin and offers a light to medium coverage. It contains mineral pigments with nourishing botanical ingredients including macadamia oil, coconut oil and pomegranate - which incredibly nourishes and hydrates the skin. It comes in a pump sized packaging which makes it easier to dispense and convenient to take around with you whilst you're travelling on the go. I would apply the foundation either with a brush or a sponge to achieve a smooth and flawless complexion.

Overall, I found this foundation to very moisturising and hydrating to wear on the skin all day long and I would add a top layer of finishing powder to achieve more of a mattified look.

Eyeshadow Ombre in 02 - RRP $34

What you'll realise about most of the Dr. Hauschka range is that there are no particular fancy names for it. It's simple and straightforward which I don't mind as it's easy to search for the product on their official website. Nevertheless, this eyeshadow features mineral pigments which feel very natural and organic. The texture is soft, silky and even includes black tea which moisturises the area around the eyes. When swatched it's not strongly pigmented which is alright because it means that it leaves a sultry and soft look on the eyes. I love how it comes in a gorgeous compact including a small brush and mirror, making it ideal for touching up on the go. (It's the cutest eyeshadow compact I've ever seen)

Volume Mascara 03 Plum, RRP $54

I don't own any plum coloured mascaras so this is the first for me. The formulation of this mascara includes mineral pigments which come with incredibly nourishing ingredients and it even allows me to achieve thicker looking lashes. I would love to try the black version for more of a dramatic and bold effect - but the plum shade adds more dimension and colour to your lashes which is great.

Colour Correcting Powder 00,
 RRP $72

This is a new product by Dr. Hauschka which features their colour correcting palette. There are four translucent shades which helps to tone down any redness and also lightens up any shadows so that your complexion glows. I would usually apply the correcting powder underneath my eyeshadow to minimise any redness and shadows before putting on anything else. However, you can also look too apply this colour corrector after your foundation. This is an amazing product that provides for a healthier and more flawless complexion.

Lipstick in 11 Amaryllis,
RRP $49.01

This lipstick is incredibly moisturising and I've provided a swatch as per the below. The shade 11 in Amaryllis is a deep, crimson red which looks romantic and very feminine. This shade is not too bright and would suit a special occasion!

All of the products are as mentioned in this post are now available at https://www.drhauschka.com.au/

From the top: Foundation in 02
Middle: Lipstick in 11
Bottom: Eyeshadow in 02

Have you tried any of the beauty products by Dr. Hauschka as before?
